Collaboration and Community are Key to Artsville

September has brought about many opportunities for community involvement and artist collaboration. Elizabeth Strub, from Hobbyknob Farm and Local Cloth, spoke with participants at a lively Coffee and Conversations. We learned about the process of making yarn starting with raising barnyard animals, spinning, natural dyeing, and various applications such as knitting, weaving, and croteching. This was done in partnership with the Ferguson Family YMCA in Candler where we will also be participating in their Family Night on September 29th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.

October will bring about exciting events for us as well. Artsville will launch our first class of Virtual Gallery Artists mid-month! We will also speak with Gina Phillips on our podcast about her exciting festival, Hilloween, a multi-day event in Mitchell County, NC.
